I like this tv. The sound is good. We keep around 15. It can go up to 25 I think. Not sure cause I never had to have it really loud. I think the colors can be a little dark at times, but I also haven't adjusted the colors either. My big complaint with the TV is that you have to point the remote at the lower right corner of the TV or it won't respond.
Otherwise it's a good TV and my daughter and have enjoyed plenty of movies without having to get speakers for sound.
Word to the wise, the smart sound feature they have on the TV isn't really smart sound. It's the same as changing from stereo to mono, etc. it definitely will not level out the sounds.

My boyfriend spent some time researching good hdtvs, and decided Vizio was the best option (in our price range!). I was fine with this because I know he knows his electronics, and I definitely do not. When the tv arrived, right out of the box, the side buttons didn't work. Now, the remote worked, so this wasn't too annoying because I could still turn it off/on and change the volume, but as it was a brand new tv it should have been in perfect condition. My boyfriend called Vizio's tech support and they talked him through a few steps to see if he could fix it (he couldn't), then they scheduled the "support personnel" to come to our apartment in about 10 days. The two men who came fixed the problem with the volume fairly quickly, so it all seemed well. Then, two or three weeks later, the screen just went black. It was "on", the Vizio logo/light was lit up white instead of orange like it is when the TV is off, but the screen would not show anything. Once again we called tech support. Immediately they said that this was a defective product and that they would replace it. The "back light" which lights up the screen was broken and it was not reparable. So, after waiting almost three weeks for the TV to arrive, we finally received the new tv tonight. After packing up the old TV into the box that the new one came in (it is our responsibility to send them the broken tv back immediately or we get charged $500, instead of the support team picking it up--which I feel like they should do since it is their defective product), we realize that the new tv is broken as well. The screen has orange bands running up and down it and has extremely choppy picture/sound. It also turns itself off after a few minutes. After reviewing their policy, it seems like I am not entitled to get my money back. I can, however, call tech support and go through the same process I already mentioned.

I realize that many people have had great luck with their vizios, and for the few weeks that mine was working I'll admit it was fine, but there is not a chance that I am wasting any more money on Vizio products after sending us two defective products in a row and making us wait a considerable amount of time for "repairs". If you decide to order one, then I hope your luck is better than ours.... but if I were you, I'd pony up the extra hundred dollars for a better quality television.

I don't know much about flat screens -- but this one was everything I was hoping for any more (mainly because the price was so great). I definitely recommend it. No problems, great picture, super easy to set up. Awesome.
