3 stars Works fine but remote is awful 2010-09-03

Reviewer: Sinclair

The machine has worked fine. We've played an average of 2-3 DVD's per week on it and it works great. It also has the ability to turn itself on when you hit the eject button so you don't have to power it on before opening the tray. The only real complaint I have is about the remote design. The remote works but the buttons are very small and the symbols are hard to see. Also, the placement of the buttons is not like most remotes so getting to them isn't easy or intuitive. Trying to find the pause button in the dark is really annoying.

5 stars Quality and good price. 2010-09-01

Was looking for a simple dvd player - easy to use - good quality and with a reasonable price ...this one fit the bill.

5 stars Decent player with useful remote 2010-08-30

Reviewer: Daniel W. Inman

I really don't have a lot to add over all of the other reviews, except to point out the remote actually as an "AB repeat" feature (click the button once to mark the start of a sequence, then again to mark the end. The player then repeats the sequence over and over until you press the button again). The two supposedly "junk" DVD players I purchased had it, but the feature was glaringly absent from the remotes for the two "good" (3x as expensive) players I have owned. While it may not seem crucial, it is very nice to have if you watch films with hard to catch dialog or dense action scenes.

5 stars Exactly What We Wanted 2010-08-25

There are more than enough reviews already, so I won't duplicate them, Suffice it to say, I believe the player performs better than expected and was worth the purchase price.

4 stars Good player crappy remote 2010-08-21

Reviewer: R. Gesswein

Player works well and it's very inexpensive. No noise from the DVD as it's playing. It's thin, and generates almost no heat. Like many have said, the remote has really small buttons with labels only a teenager could read. But even more annoying is that the the remote has to be pointed exactly at the sensor on the player in order for the commands to take. Still, it didn't look like there was anything better for this price.
