I purchased this Sharp TV in Mar. '10.
Nice looking TV with cabling from side for a closer to wall mounting.
Nothing else positive to say from here on. The picture was not HD quality
as advertised but reminded me of a paint by number picture with little definition. I have a Vuze lcd tv on my treadmill that has an excellent picture. I hooked up the Sharp there to see if it was my cabling. Nope.
Oh well from 10' it was watchable in our bedroom. About the middle of June the picture went psychedelic. Just outlines all over (like watching "Predator") and colors out of synch. Called for warranty info and was told to take it to Appleton, WI for repair (a one hour drive). They have it for 1 week and am told it needs a new main board which Sharp does not provide to its repair stations. A call back to Sharp and I'm told that this TV was supposed to be sent to its repair facility in Illinois at my expense. The warranty for smaller TV's is a "Direct Repair" and this means sending it to them. OK send it (what choice do I have?) and receive a call from Sharp that they can find nothing wrong with it and its been on for 40 hours. I receive the TV the next day, plug it in and the color is OK but picture quality is sub sub par. Last week (about Aug. 2) I decided to give the TV to my sister to use in their camper to play dvd's. I put in a DVD for the first time and the dumb thing just ejects it and other dvd's I have. A call to Sharp again and get this customer no service rep that just wants to know why I didn't try to contact them sooner about the problems I'm still having with a TV that's still under warranty? That this "TV needs special cabling for HD" and "I shouldn't wait so long before calling" is no excuse for a piece of crap tv. The poor picture quality (I've heard this set was originally a computer moniter), having to send it to a repair facility and told nothing was wrong at that time (today's call I was told the repair station in IL put in a new main board last time), and unskilled customer service people have turned me off to any Sharp products in the future. I'll be looking at Samsung and others for a replacement.

My daughter bought this TV to replace an older one when the signal changed to digital. The picture quality could be better but for a small TV it's not bad. The sound wavers but that could be the cable company. We thought we wouldn't have to rent a box from our cable company on a digital set but they scrambled everything. So if you're trying to get out of renting a box check with your cable company first.
All in all I would recommend this set if you're not expecting a big screen picture and sound.
The DVD player works very well and is a big plus.
She has also rented movies through Amazon and they look great on the screen.

4 stars Great TV 2010-06-23

It is a great TV for our bedroom. The sound is quality is good and fills the room. Picture quality is great. It takes 1 - 2 seconds to change the channel. Ours is wall mounted and we wish Sharp provided a little black plastic cover for the mounting tang that sticks out the bottom of the TV. DVD's play fine. We also wish that the remote would let you program in a shortcut or integer channel number for weird channels numbers we get from our cable service for the HD channels. That would be better than having to remember that 110.001 is the CBS HD channel, etc.

5 stars Quick Set up - great for bedroom! 2010-06-15

Very easy setup. Wanted a TV with a DVD player that my wife and I could watch TV and movies in bed. Mounted it to the wall with no problems and have had no problems with it now. Have had it for 6 six weeks and have used the DVD player multiple times with no problems. A great purchase for a great price!

4 stars So Far So Good 2010-06-13

I purchased this TV because of reviews that other similar brands were not loud enough. I am pleased to report that these units are sufficiently loud for any standard bedroom. The picture quality is adequate but not outstanding. I bought four of them and they all worked well out of the box.

It is really too early to tell if this will be a good product. My concerns lies in the functionality over time of the DVD player. I bought several of these to go into beach rentals so I will have a better idea in a year of so.

That being said, so far so good.
